NFF’s Strategy for Economic Growth:
To combat poverty and empower communities.
Health
Access to healthcare remains a major challenge for many rural communities in Afghanistan, where poverty, illiteracy, and limited infrastructure make health a secondary priority to basic survival. In villages like Hosynkoot, there are no government or private clinics, and families often walk long distances to access basic medical care.
With approximately 600 families in Hosynkoot, and many more in surrounding villages, the need for a local health facility is urgent. NFF is working to establish a clinic in Hosynkoot to serve this growing population, offering essential healthcare services to women, children, and families who otherwise face high transportation costs and limited access to medicine.
The proposal for this health clinic will not only support Hosynkoot but also nearby villages, helping reduce the region’s high rural mortality rate and improving long-term community health.
Education
A of 2021, the unemployment rate in Afghanistan was 13.3%. Forty-nine percent of the population lived below the national poverty line in 2020, and 35.4% of the employed population live on less than $1.90 (PPP/purchasing power parity) per day. Furthermore, 97% of the total population is dependent on foreign aid.NFF understands that the creation of jobs is a key factor for supporting social development in Afghanistan, as unemployment and poverty are linked to chronic health conditions, malnutrition, political unrest, and armed conflict in Afghanistan.
In order to increase agricultural production capacity and output, national- and global-level market access, and job creation, NFF provides and facilitates:

Liquidity for growth, such as micro-loans, and grants + Local partner coordination
